May 27-The Ultimate Mechanic

I was putting new brake pads on my 1997 Chevy work van the other day. In order to service the van, I had to remove the jack stands from underneath my 1977 Chevy Blazer (that is another story). Moving a heavy 3 ½ ton jack into position on a gravel pad is no easy feat. Fortunately, I had Cali nearby to help me negotiate. Cali was extremely interested in all aspects of my break job, especially when I had to lift my Blazer off the ground. She watched as I maneuvered the jack handle, she probed underneath the Blazer, and she circled around the tires as they were off the ground. Cali could not miss any part of the job and she wanted to stay by my side. I believe Cali is now qualified to install the brakes when my work van needs another overhaul-yeah right lol. I was reminded how Moses warned the Israelites to stay close to God and to follow all His commands. He warned them if they strayed from God, they would be scattered among the nations. Moses stated in Deuteronomy 4:29, “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul” (NAS). As Cali stayed close and watched every move I made, God also wants us to stay close to Him and to watch how He operates in our lives. God is only a whisper away. If you feel that your life is broken and that God is far from you, whisper a prayer. God is the chief mechanic and he has the ultimate jack to lift the troubles from you. Go ahead; give Him a call; He will be right there with all His tools.
