Painting a Room

April 8

Since we are under house arrest, Kim and I decided to clear out our master bedroom and paint it. For those of you who may need to clear out a master bedroom, take my advice-tackle another project. Cali, unfortunately, has been somewhat neglected for the past two days. She has been pounding at the door-wanting our full attention. I have stopped several times today to play with her, however, for a 3 or 4-year-old German Shepherd, several play times a day is not quite enough. Despite Cali’s persistence, I had to pick up my paint brush and concentrate on the situation at hand. If you are like me, I am sure you find it easy to become distracted with life’s many demands and to put what is important on the bottom of our to-do list. Philippians 3:13-14 states, “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do; forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (NAS). Next time you feel distracted from what you know is important, look carefully, Jesus might be handing you a paintbrush.
